Setting a new standard on the CB1 estate, 10 Station Road, in Cambridge, is the first BREEAM ‘Outstanding’ development in the area. This remarkable building, crafted in homage to local architectural heritage, features Ibstock and Ash & Lacy’s innovative MechSlip system to create a high-quality workspace. MechSlip is a mechanically fixed brick-slip unique to the British market which offers a range of advantages over competing cladding solutions.
The façade showcases approximately 60,000 Amato blend brick slips from Ibstock’s Leicester factory, demonstrating a fabric-first design approach led by Perkins + Will. Rigorous early-stage analysis ensures that the building meets modern thermal comfort requirements.
Ibstock’s influence extends to another development on Station Road. 30 Station Road is faced with MechSlip and Ibstock's Sevenoaks Yellow Stock brick slips.
