Award-winning architects at Bond Bryan have helped bring a new IBrick design to life following a factory visit and CPD session at Ibstock's Nostell Horizon facility.
A team from Bond Bryan recently visited Ibstock's Nostell Horizon factory to gain a deeper understanding of the IBrick manufacturing process and explore the creative possibilities offered by the innovative ceramic component.
The visit combined a factory tour with a dedicated CPD session, providing architects with valuable insight into how IBricks are produced and how they can be specified to create distinctive façades and architectural features.
As part of the day, the Bond Bryan team took part in a design challenge, applying their creativity to develop an original IBrick concept. The winning design, created by Senior Architect Rui Miguel Rodrigues, will now be made available for customers to order as part of the IBrick range.
Commenting on the experience, Rui said:
"Brick is such an enduring part of the architectural palette, so the opportunity to create something distinctive with Ibstock was really exciting."
The challenge highlighted the versatility of IBrick and the role it can play in helping architects create unique visual identities while working with one of the construction industry's most trusted and familiar materials.
By combining advanced manufacturing techniques with architectural creativity,
IBrick opens up opportunities to introduce texture, depth, pattern and individuality into brick façades, enabling specifiers to achieve distinctive design outcomes without compromising on material authenticity.
The collaboration with Bond Bryan demonstrates how early engagement between manufacturers and architects can unlock new possibilities, transforming innovative ideas into products that can be specified on real projects.
The newly named
Bond Bryan Blue design will now join the growing portfolio of IBrick options available to customers, providing architects with another creative tool for delivering stand-out brick architecture.
