Ibstock was proud to be shortlisted at the recent Siemens Sustainable Supply Chain Awards, recognising the collaborative efforts being made across the rail sector to reduce environmental impact and support more sustainable infrastructure delivery.
Representing Ibstock at the event were National Sales Manager, Neil Cross, and Head of ESG, Emily Landsborough. The awards celebrated organisations that are helping to advance sustainability throughout the rail supply chain, highlighting the growing importance of collaboration in achieving the industry's carbon reduction ambitions.
Supporting Sustainable Rail Infrastructure
As a long-standing supplier to Siemens' Rail Infrastructure team, Ibstock provides essential precast concrete products including
troughing and
signal bases, supporting the delivery and maintenance of critical rail networks across the UK.
With embodied carbon reduction remaining a key priority for rail asset owners, principal contractors and infrastructure engineers, Ibstock has continued to invest in the development of lower carbon concrete solutions that help customers meet their environmental objectives without compromising on quality or performance.
The company's sustainability credentials have also been recognised by Siemens beyond the awards programme, having recently been featured as a supplier spotlight within Siemens' FY25 Carbon Reduction Plan.
Collaboration Driving Industry Progress
The rail sector faces increasing pressure to deliver infrastructure improvements while supporting wider decarbonisation targets. As a result, collaboration between manufacturers, contractors and infrastructure operators is becoming increasingly important in identifying practical ways to reduce emissions throughout project lifecycles.
By working closely with customers and industry partners, Ibstock continues to support the delivery of more sustainable rail infrastructure through responsible manufacturing practices and the ongoing development of lower carbon construction products.
Looking Ahead
The Siemens Sustainable Supply Chain Awards provided an opportunity to celebrate the collective progress being made across the industry and to recognise organisations driving positive change.
Ibstock congratulates all winners and shortlisted businesses recognised at the event and looks forward to continuing its work with partners across the rail sector to support a more sustainable future for UK rail infrastructure.
