Princess Royal Bristol Surgical Centre, Southmead Hospital
Our Bradgate Light Buff bricks were selected for the £49.9 million Princess Royal Bristol Surgical Centre at
Southmead Hospital – a major new facility designed to increase surgical capacity across the region.
Delivered in partnership with
Brickhunter, the project saw the supply of over 110,000 facing bricks, complemented by 30,000 fill and reface specials and 30
bee bricks to support biodiversity requirements.
The new surgical centre provides dedicated space for planned procedures, including four operating theatres and a 40-bed inpatient ward, helping to expand access to treatment and improve patient outcomes.
Bradgate Light Buff was chosen for its consistent appearance and ability to contribute to a façade suited to a modern healthcare environment. Working closely with distribution partner Brickhunter ensured reliable supply and the inclusion of specialist components to meet the project’s design and technical requirements.
Chris Hardman, Distribution Director, Brickhunter, spoke on this project:
“This was a fantastic project to be involved in, supporting the delivery of a modern healthcare facility that will make a real difference to patients. The Bradgate Light Buff brick provided a consistent, high-quality finish, and the inclusion of specialist elements such as reface specials and bee bricks ensured both the aesthetic and functional requirements were fully met.”
This project highlights Ibstock’s capability to support large-scale healthcare developments, delivering robust, aesthetically appropriate brick solutions for buildings where performance, longevity and visual quality are essential.
Calderdale Royal Hospital
This expertise has been demonstrated multiple times, most recently with our involvement in the
Calderdale Royal Hospital redevelopment. Here, our
Utility Troughs were specified to support the wider infrastructure upgrade being carried out by
Heffernan Utilities. Chosen for their ready availability, which supported project timelines, the troughs offered a resilient and cost-effective solution, ideal for the brief.
Salford Royal Hospital
Our products are also regularly specified for their high quality and aesthetic finish. This was the case at the
Salford Royal Hospital Bevan Intermediate Care Unit, where Ibstock
Amato Blend bricks met the project’s architectural needs.
